Mason-Talton Wedding The marriage of Miss Jan Melissa Mason and Mr. Edward Holmes Talton Jr. of Orlando, took place on May 10, 2003 at Trinity United Methodist Church in DeLand, Florida. The bride is the daughter of Mr. William H. Mason II of Atlanta, GA, and Mrs. Linda S. Nagle of Safety Harbor, FL. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Mason of Clearwater, FL, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Meyer of Lafayette, IN. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Talton Sr. of DeLand, FL. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Talton Sr. of DeLand, FL, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Peterson of Pierson, FL.
The bride's sister, Kathleen Mason, was her maid of honor. Her bridesmaids were Sherri Bledsoe, Jodi Kavanaugh, Terri Talton, Tonya Talton, and Marla Zell. The groom's father, Edward Talton Sr. was his best man. His groomsmen were Clay Blount, Tyler Ford, Jonathan Mason, Robert Whitmarsh, and Robert Zell.
The bride is a graduate of Tarpon Springs High School and received her Bachelors degree in Sociology and Communications from Florida State University. She is pursuing a Masters from Rollins College. The groom is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering. He is Vice President of Reiss Environmental and Owner of Natural Worldwide Sportfishing.
The couple will honeymoon on the Isle of St. Lucia at Sandals Halcyon. Sandals has three resorts in St. Lucia and they will visit one each day. While at Sandals, their activities will include sailing, snorkeling, golfing, and relaxing spa treatments. They will also travel to learn St. Lucia's history, discover its beauty, and interact with the islanders.
They have many plans for the next year, as all newlyweds should, and will exchange vows again in a beach setting bordered by sand as soft and white as a bridal bouquet, with an open-air cathedral as high as the sky and as wide as the sea on their first anniversary.
